Add Something Different

Some customers have grown very weary of the standard white PVCu window and are now looking for something that extra bit special to transform the appearance of their home - despite the increasingly poor economic outlook.

One thing that hasn't changed with customers is their high demand for new products. Consumers these days expect lots of choice, with whatever they are buying, not just windows and doors. More choice allowed the customer to purchase something which is more unique to them, rather than the customer having to settle for something 'off the peg',

As well as the PVCu colour market on the rise. The expansion of coloured aluminium has also reinforced the coloured market over the last couple of years. The coloured option is now here to stay. And with one-off 'grand-designs' becoming ever more popular, coloured windows and doors are going to become increasingly popular over the coming few years.

Also the textured finish to the PVCu frames is becoming more main stream

Also cream colours are now available as a standard colour – but you can now have any colour you want

Remember all new customers who have palnitherm glass fitted can enter the competition to win back the cost of their double glazing

Double Glazing Maintenance

If anybody says the windows and doors are maintenance free then most probably they do not know the industry well.

Here are a few guidelines for keeping your windows in tip top shape

Frames – wash with hot soapy water together then again with a PVCu cleaner you could buy from the sheds – try not to use abrasive cleaners as this will scratch the frame

Gearing – the sliding bolt method of locking ( called an espagnolette ) is always the achilles heel of any window or door  – these need to be lubricated with oil ( not WD40 ) every 6 months – we always say when the clocks change – this will stop them seizing up  - as rule if it moves oil it.

The same applies to PVCu front doors – also put a bit of oil on the key to lubricate the inside of the cylinder

When oiling a door always put a rag on the floor to catch the drips

On a sliding patio door always oil the rollers as well as the lock
